What's New

The Wilmington Industrial Park (WIP) is a 232-acre industrial center located in the City of Los Angeles. Current efforts are underway to attract new business into the WIP that will bring with it new jobs, particularly for residents of Wilmington and contribute to the economic vitality of the harbor area and the greater Los Angeles region.

Regional Administrator

Barron McCoy joined the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency in 2008 as the Regional Administrator for the LA Harbor Region. In this role, Mr. McCoy is responsible for providing organizational leadership, management and strategic development for the Beacon Street, Pacific Corridor, and LA Harbor Industrial Center Redevelopment Projects.

General Description

With the Harbor Region, there are three redevelopment project areas, including the Beacon Street Redevelopment Project area, the L.A. Harbor Industrial Center Redevelopment Project and the Pacific Corridor Redevelopment Project area.  The CRA/LA has established eight priority projects for this region.

Redevelopment Goals

Create new economic and employment opportunities for San Pedro and Wilmington, taking full advantage of its location next to the Los Angeles Harbor and provide quality designed new housing opportunities to a variety of income groups.

Geography

The Harbor Region serves the communities of San Pedro and Wilmington. The LA Harbor Industrial Project in Wilmington is located just north of the Port of Los Angeles and south of Anaheim Street. The San Pedro Project Areas of Beacon Street and Pacific Corridor are located at the terminus of the 110 Harbor Freeway, 25 miles south of Downtown Los Angeles.
