La Brea Public Improvement Project Completed!

The CRA/LA and City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services completed public improvements on La Brea Ave between De Longpre and Fountain Ave. The project included eight new trees, curb, gutter, and sidewalk repairs. This was a collaborative effort with the Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Villas at Gower Construction Underway!
CRA/LA, Developers and supporters celebrated the groundbreaking of the Villas at Gower project on Thursday, July 1st. The project is a 71 unit permanent supportive housing for transitional youth, homeless families and individuals with special needs.The project is set to be completed by February 2012

Historic Survey Purpose
In its effort to identify and help preserve historic resources within its Hollywood Redevelopment Project Area, the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles (CRA/LA) is in the process of finalizing an update of the Historic Resources Survey for that redevelopment project area. The survey update was performed by Chattel Architecture, Planning & Preservation, Inc., in collaboration with LSA Associates, Inc., and PCR Services Corporation.
The updated survey confirms previously identified historic resources or identifies potential new ones.

Between Ivar and Selma Avenue
The Hollywood Farmers' Market is a "certified" open-air street market with approximately 90 farmers, 30 local artisans, and 30 baked goods and prepared food vendors who sell their own products every Sunday. It is a direct-to-consumer marketplace with all produce and products from local, California vendors and growers. The Hollywood Farmers' Market also offers the community a variety of programs that assist families with better nutrition and healthy living programs.
