Buildings Along District 9 Corridors Targeted for Façade Improvements
CRA/LA Approves Ongoing Grant & Loan Programs Los Angeles — Owners of commercial buildings and their tenants along Washington Boulevard, Figueroa Street, Vermont, Central and Broadway Avenues can receive grants and no- interest loans to improve their exteriors, under a proposal approved Thursday, April 21, by the Board of Commissioners of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles (CRA/LA). In Council District 9, the ongoing efforts will target the completion of acquisition for the Slauson Central Shopping Center, the development of 27 town-homes with a community based non-profit and the increasing the industrial base and infrastructure in the Goodyear tract.  Lastly, the Agency will be focusing on the nexus between downtown and the northern portion of the Project Area by encouraging large commercial and mixed-use ventures along Washington Boulevard.
