YOUng Voices
1997

Project Area: Vermont/Manchester
Project: Student Exhibition and Workshop
Project Location: 943 W. 85th Street
Project Type: CRA Initiated

Description:

A grant from the Santa Fe Art Colony Trust Fund allowed artist Sanford Biggers to organize and present an exhibition of student artwork at Y.O.U. Alternative High School. The project involved a three-month long workshop called "YOUng Voices" that brought art into all the disciplines of the Alternative High School. The workshop's intent was to provide a safe, constructive, and nurturing environment for young voices to speak freely. The exhibition was open to members of the community.
