Michael Todd
Ten, Chi, Jin
1979

Project Area: Little Tokyo
Project: Japanese Village Plaza
Project Location: 327 E. Second Street
Project Type: Developer

Description:

Michael Todd's sculpture, "Ten, Chi, Jin," rests in a small landscaped planter area near the center of an intimate outdoor pedestrian shopping village. Todd's sculpture of steel tubing is welded and shaped into a graceful asymmetrical oval. The sculpture's burnt brown metal arches echo the simple and primarily wooden architectural materials that define the space. Meticulously balanced, this 12'h x 7'w sculpture nonetheless appears graceful despite the roughness of its component materials.
