 undefined Draft EIR for the 1601 & 1605 Vine Street Project

PROJECT LOCATION-SPECIFIC: The Proposed Project is located in Los Angeles County, within the Hollywood Community Plan area of the City of Los Angeles at the northwest corner of Vine Street and Selma Avenue (project site).  The project site is a roughly rectangular-shaped parcel of land consisting of approximately 0.43 acres and is bounded by the Ricardo Montalban Theater to the north, Vine Street and the Hollywood and Vine Project to the east, a surface parking lot on the southeast corner of the intersection of Vine Street and Selma Avenue, Selma Avenue and the Sunset + Vine mixed-use development to the south, and the Encore Hall Senior Development to the west and adjacent to the project site.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:  Development of the project site includes the demolition of a street level parking lot and two existing structures: flower shop/locksmith and hamburger stand, and the construction of an eight-story office building with approximately 100,386 square feet of office space and with the ground floor divided into 4,900 square feet of lobby and common areas and 2,012 square feet of retail space.  The project would total approximately 107,298 square feet.

PUBLIC HEARING:  A Public Hearing for the Draft EIR has been tentatively scheduled for February 5,  2009 at 10:00 am or soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the CRA Board Room, 6th floor, at the address above.  The purpose of the public hearing is a to provide an opportunity for all interested parties to be heard with respect to the Draft EIR.  The Agency will not take any action on the proposed Project.

REVIEW PERIOD:  The Draft EIR public review period begins on January 13, 2009, and ends on February 27, 2009.  Written comments on the Draft EIR are to be directed to Dr. Robert Manford, Senior City Planner, Community Redevelopment Agency at the above address, by fax at 213-687-9546 or e-mail rmanford@cra.lacity.org.  Comments must be received by 5:00 pm February 27, 2009.
