Overview

The management team includes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO),  Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Regional Operations and Economic Development, Deputy Chief Officer of Housing and Development Services, Chief Deputy to the CEO, and  four Regional Administrators.



Christine Essel Christine Essel - Chief Executive Officer

Christine Essel is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CRA/LA. With an annual budget exceeding $600 million and a work program covering 31 project areas throughout the City of Los Angeles, CRA/LA is the largest redevelopment agency in the State of California. Ms. Essel joined the agency in May 2010 and brings her expertise to the agency at a time when the City is increasing its focus on creating and preserving jobs by attracting and retaining businesses.

Steve ValenzuelaSteve Valenzuela - Chief Financial Officer

Steve Valenzuela is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of CRA/LA. As CFO, he is responsible for developing, directing, implementing and evaluating the CRA/LA finance, budgets, accounting, audits and compliance functions. He oversees management of CRA/LA debt, serves as expert advisor to CRA/LA management team and the Board of Commissioners on complex financing and debt management issues.

David RiccitielloDavid Riccitiello

David Riccitiello is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Regional Operations and Economic Development of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles.  Mr. Riccitiello oversees about 90 employees serving 31 project areas across the city of Los Angeles from the Harbor to Canoga Park.  He also manages the agency's Economic Development and Engineering departments.

Barron McCoyJenny Scanlin

Jenny Scanlin is the Regional Administrator for CRA/LA’s Downtown, Eastside and Harbor Regions. The Downtown Region is comprised of the Bunkerhill, Central Industrial, Chinatown, City Center, Council District 9 and Little Tokyo project areas. The Harbor Region is comprised of Beacon Street, Pacific Corridor, and LA Harbor Industrial Center Redevelopment project areas. . The Eastside Region is comprised of the Adelante Eastside and Monterey Hills project areas.

Barron McCoyBarron McCoy

Barron McCoy is the Regional Administrator for CRA/LA’s Hollywood & Central Region. The Hollywood/Central Region is comprised of the Hollywood, East Hollywood/Beverly Normandie, Pico Union I & II, Mid City Corridors, Westlake and Wilshire Center/Koreatown project areas.

Margarita De EscontriasMargarita De Escontrias

Margarita De Escontrias is the Regional Administrator for CRA/LA’s East Valley and West Valley Regional Areas. The West Valley Region is comprised of the Reseda/Canoga Park project area. The East Valley Region is comprised of the Pacoima/Panorama City, Laurel Canyon, and North Hollywood project areas.

Carolyn Hull      

Carolyn Hull is the Regional Administrator for CRA/LA’s South Los Angeles Region. The South Los Angeles Region is comprised of the Broadway Manchester, Crenshaw/Slauson, Exposition/University Park, Normandie 5, Vermont/Manchester, and Western/Slauson project areas.
