Overview


A Board of seven Commissioners appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by City Council oversees the CRA/LA. An Administrator appointed by the Board directs the staff. Under an "Oversight Ordinance", adopted in 1991, every action of the CRA is subject to City Council approval.



William H. Jackson William H. Jackson ,  Chairman
William Jackson was appointed to the Board of Commissioners of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles (CRA/LA) by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and approved by the Los Angeles City Council on October 12, 2005.  Mr. Jackson is Chairman of the CRA/LA.

Bruce D. AckermanBruce D. Ackerman -  Vice Chairman
Bruce Ackerman was appointed to the Board of Commissioners of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles (CRA/LA) by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and approved by the Los Angeles City Council on October 12, 2005.

Joan LingJoan Ling, Treasurer
Joan Ling was appointed to the Board of Commissioners of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles (CRA/LA) by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and approved by the Los Angeles City Council on October 12, 2005.  Ms. Ling is CRA/LA’s board treasurer.
Madeline JanisMadeline Janis
Madeline Janis was appointed to the Board of Commissioners on September 13, 2002. She is co-founder and Executive Director of the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy (LAANE) a non-profit that works to improve the status of the working poor in L.A. County. 
David Sickler
David Sickler was appointed to the Board of Commissioners on April 16, 2008. David Sickler is the Executive Director of Employment Relations for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the largest municipal utility in the country. He is responsible for DWP’s relations with approximately 9,000 employees. Mr. Sickler is also Senior Labor Advisor to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
